Let’s be real — the internet is full of “how to make money online” stuff that sounds too good to be true. I used to scroll through those articles thinking, “Does this actually work?”
Well, now I can finally say:
Yes, it works. But only if you're going to begin small and be persistent.
This is literally how I made my very first income using AdSense — no sophisticated gadgets, no enormous budget, no artificial promises.
Step 1: I Started with What I Knew
I did not just sit around waiting to discover the "perfect" niche. I just picked a topic I liked — in my case, mobile apps and tech tips. It’s the stuff I already talked about with friends anyway.
The key? Start with something you genuinely enjoy. Trust me, it makes writing so much easier.
Step 2: I Made a Plain Blog (Free)
I set up my very first blog on Blogger.com. It's free, easy for a beginner like me, and Google-owned — which means joining up to AdSense is ridiculously simple.
I didn't mess about with any custom domain name or bells and whistles. I simply selected a plain template, added a few basic pages such as "About Me" and "Contact," and set off.
Step 3: I Wrote 10 Authentic, Useful Posts
I did not overthink SEO or traffic then. I just wrote content that I would find helpful to read myself.
My first few posts were:
"Top 5 Free Photo Editing Apps I Actually Use"
"How I Made ₹150 Using a Rewards App"
"This Setting Saved My Phone Battery Big Time"
Nothing that would go viral. Just authentic content.
Step 4: I Applied for AdSense
Once I had a few pieces up and my blog resembled an actual site, I applied for Google AdSense.
I thought they’d reject me, honestly. But after a few days — boom, I got approved!
That email from AdSense saying “Your site is now ready to show ads” felt like winning a prize. 😄
Step 5: My First Click = My First ₹
A couple of days later, I saw it in my dashboard:
₹2.17 from one ad click.
What Actually Helped Me
Writing useful, trending content (not just fluff)
Keeping my blog clean and easy to navigate
Not spamming it with too many ads
Sharing my blog posts in small communities
Being patient — this is a long game
Final Thoughts: You Don’t Need to Be a Pro
Seriously. I’m not a tech genius or a blogging expert. I just took that first step, stayed consistent, and trusted the process.
Making your first ₹100 or ₹1000 online isn’t easy… but it’s 100% possible.
So if you’ve been thinking about starting a blog and trying AdSense — do it.Begin today. Publish a single post. And another. Soon you'll be smiling as you check your AdSense dashboard.
